Swarens Memorial Higher Ground Annual All Day Sing

All are welcome to join Indy Sacred Harp for the 31st annual Swarens Memorial All Day Sing, held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for registration. There will be a “dinner-on-the-grounds” potluck at about 12 p.m. with coffee breaks during both the morning and afternoon sessions. Potluck dishes are welcome! If you have never attended a shape-note singing: all are welcome, no musical experience or religious affiliation required. Though unaffiliated with any denomination, this tradition is a deeply moving experience for all involved, and functions as a religious observance for many singers. That said, this is not a traditional performance: there is no audience, the music is not rehearsed, and visitors are always welcome to sing along or to participate as listeners.
