Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper/Parish Dinner
Tuesday, February 17, 5:30-7 p.m., Parish Hall
All ages are invited to St. Paul’s (new and improved) Pancake Supper! Because the pancake supper falls on the third week of the month, it will be combined with the February all-parish dinner — featuring special offerings from Chef Jeff, and sponsored by dinner patron Judy Sutton. Bring your family and your appetite (Mardi Gras attire encouraged — extras will be available)! Please click here to email Bill Cummings with questions; click here to find ways to help with the dinner and sign up.
NEW Shrove Tuesday Play
Children and youth are invited to participate in a NEW offering! During this year’s Pancake Supper, a play based on the story “Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch” will be presented. The play conveys a heartwarming message, with simple parts for young actors. This year, Valentine’s Day is just three days prior to Shrove Tuesday - a convenient juxtaposition. The stage set will be built on Saturday, February 14 (time TBD), and rehearsal will be that afternoon, or February 15, depending on availability. Parents and children interested in play participation, please click here to email Bill Cummings with availability for acting, set building, or rehearsing (and which day is preferable). Parents who are willing to help with setup, baking, and more, please click here to sign up.
Burning of the Palms
Immediately following the Pancake Supper, please gather outside where the palms from Palm Sunday 2025 will be burned. If you have palms from past Palm Sundays to contribute, please bring them to St. Paul’s on or before Shrove Tuesday.
Shrove Tuesday Intergenerational Service with Imposition of Ashes
Stay after the Burning of the Palms for a brief (approximately 20 minutes) intergenerational worship service, including the imposition of ashes.
