Mosaic Book club has chosen some great books to kick off 2026 and invites others to read along/join the group!

February 5 meeting - February's selection is a powerful novel by Ocian Vuong, "The Emperor of Gladness." This book is about chosen family, unexpected friendship, the immigrant experience, and the disillusionment of contemporary American life. If this book intrigues you but you don't have time to read before the group meets - please come anyway and meet some fellow readers! Click here to email Susie Holtz with questions, or text her at 317.370.4262. See below for book selections through April:

March 5 meeting - March is perfect for non-fiction readers! Salman Rushdie's memoir/autobiography, "Knife: Meditations After an Attempted Murder," details the 2022 stabbing attack Rushdie survived. He explores the event through his recovery, blending personal trauma with reflections on free speech and the power of storytelling. Despite the horrific subject, it is noted for being witty, stoic, and ultimately life-affirming.

April 2 meeting - Author Danzy Senna explores the complexities of racial identify, particularly for biracial individuals, in her book "Colored Television." The book is praised for its humor and sharp observations as the main character, Jane (a writer) gets the chance to develop a TV show in Hollywood exploring themes of race, identity, and ambition.
