Meal Train Ministry
This past year at St. Paul’s has been a time of discernment and change. A renewed commitment to providing support to fellow parishioners makes this summer a perfect time to share information about the Meal Train Ministry.
The Meal Train Ministry connects volunteers willing to provide a meal with parishioners who might be facing some challenges in their lives. Families who are welcoming a new baby might find it helpful to have some meals delivered, helping to balance the new demands on their time. When a loved one is sick or recovering from surgery, delivered meals can take some of the emotional and physical stress away. Dealing with grief from a death in the family can be eased when one doesn’t have to worry about routine tasks like cooking meals. A meal train can be set up daily, for as long as it’s needed (whether that’s for a few days, or every couple days for a few weeks).
Would meals help your family? If you or your family would like the support from your St. Paul’s community in the form of meals, please click here to email Susie Holtz, or click here to email George Slenski, Meal Train Ministry Co-coordinators.
Would you like to volunteer? Volunteers on the Meal Train Team are added to a group who will receive an email with a meal train website link when someone requests a meal train. This gives volunteers the opportunity to sign up to deliver a meal on a date convenient to them (giftcards and prepared food from a grocery or restaurant are also options). Serving on this team doesn’t commit you to sign up for any of the meal trains; it only means you’d like to be included in the emailed notice. If you would like to be added to this ministry team, please click here to email Tana Hunnicutt or call her at 317.253.1277.
