WALKING TOGETHER

The Rev. Jeff Bower will begin his sabbatical journey walking the Camino Ignaciano in Spain. For Jeff, this will be a time of spiritual renewal and journaling; St. Paul’s Indy parishioners are invited to simultaneously enter into a season of reflection and growth! Thanks to a generous sabbatical grant awarded to Jeff through the Lilly Endowment Clergy Renewal Program, special gifts are being shared with the congregation to deepen a collective spiritual formation - helping us to create community, share Christ's love and strive for justice.

  • "Face to the Rising Sun Reflections on Spirituals and Justice"

    If you haven't already, please take a copy of Face to the Rising Sun by the Rev. Dr. Mark Bozzuti-Jones (available in Burrows Commons). This devotional book is a journey through Spiritual songs that invites us to deepen our commitment to respect the dignity of every human being. Organized as 31 meditations that can be discovered daily or over a longer period of time, each day’s meditation includes a Spiritual that can be read or listened to online. Click here for a playlist of included Spirituals. Slaves used these Spirituals to express their faith, suffering, love of God and hope for a better future.

  • Small Group Reflection :: Book Discussion

    Guided small group discussions on Face to the Rising Sun are planned, creating space to reflect, share and grow together. Discussions will occur on Sundays, July 13 & 27 and August 3 & 17 from 9-10 a.m. Attendees should meet in the CRR (second floor, Parish Ctr. bldg.)     Summer services will be enriched with special music offerings, highlighting Spirituals from Face to the Rising Sun.

  • Author Visit :: Special Guest, the Rev. Dr. Mark Bozzuti-Jones

    This journey will culminate with a mini-retreat at St. Paul’s Indy on Saturday, August 23, featuring author and guest visitor the Rev. Dr. Mark Bozzuti-Jones* himself. He will also preach at St. Paul’s Indy on Sunday, August 24 at the 8:30 and 10 a.m. services. *The Rev. Dr. Mark Bozzuti-Jones is an Episcopal priest from Jamaica, serving as Priest and Director for Spiritual Formation at Trinity Retreat Center in West Cornwall, CT - a ministry of Trinity Church Wall Street in New York City.   • Where in the World is Father Jeff?

    Plan to follow Jeff’s journey each Sunday, and in eConnections, with a “Where in the World is Fr. Jeff?” update. Aimed at kids, but welcome to all, parishioner Peter Holtz will provide Jeff’s location weekly after 10 a.m. worship - meet outside (weather-permitting) for the latest!
