History and science fiction meet in December’s Mosaic Book Club read, "Kindred." The novel follows Dana, a Black woman in 1970s California who is repeatedly pulled back to the antebellum South to save the life of her white ancestor. Award-winning author, Octavia Butler — the first Black woman to gain major recognition in science fiction — wove themes of race, power, justice and legacy throughout her groundbreaking work. All are welcome to join the Mosaic reading group, regardless of reading the book. Click here to email Susie Holtz with questions, or text her at 317.370.4262.
