Part-Time Communications Assistant

Part time. Salary range $22-$27/hr.

You will help us strengthen our mission of inviting and accepting all people. This part-time position will support in proactively delivering clear, consistent messaging of the Church. We are looking for a highly professional collaborator and problem-solver who can consistently carry out tasks and meet deadlines. St. Paul’s regularly utilizes Microsoft Office 365, Formstack and Google forms/drive; proficiency in Outlook and Word is required. Some proficiency in liturgy of the Episcopal Church, Formstack, Google Forms and Google Drive, Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva, and social and digital content is a plus! This position will report directly to the Director of Communications

Responsibilities

  • Produce and print weekly Sunday and special bulletins (holidays, baptisms, funerals, weddings, etc.) and post all online

  • Weekly email communication with volunteers to prepare all with proper service readings and prayers

  • Prepare printed binders and booklets for special services, as needed

  • Communicate weekly and/or special service needs to all appropriate parties

  • Maintain prayer list

  • Maintain email contact list

  • Assist, as needed, in preparation of online weekly newsletter (content creation, seeking stories from parishioners, program leads, creative thinking/programming)

  • Prepare Clergy monthly on-call schedule

  • Prepare quarterly worship schedule, determining needs with Clergy and then communicating final schedule to Clergy, Altar Guild, Florist, Music Department and other key staff

  • Assist in Church’s sacramental duties, helping the Database Manager with communication needs surrounding Baptisms, Confirmations, Marriages and Deaths

  • Assist in creating and maintaining Formstack and Google form registrations or other signups, along with tracking responses and sharing information accordingly

  • Serve as staff back up for livestreaming and other events, as needed

  • Assist with social media updates, as needed

This position will be 20 hours per week with the potential for a hybrid schedule.
