STREETS TO HOME: HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS FIND HOME

At least 280 people experiencing homelessness in Indianapolis have found housing through Streets to Home Indy, a community-wide initiative working to make homelessness brief and non-recurring. As of October 6, 2026, the initiative is making significant progress toward its Phase 1 goal of housing 300–350 people and closing encampments. Twelve encampments and three downtown zones have been closed, with plans for Phase 2 to expand rehousing capabilities and help individuals and families move quickly into permanent housing. Last year, St. Paul’s contributed more than $50,000 to Streets to Home Indy! St. Paul’s Indy’s Community Engagement team, through its Faith in Action mission, committed $25,000 and invited the congregation to match that gift. Thanks to your generosity, we exceeded our matching goal and provided more than 18 move-in kits for neighbors transitioning into housing.

This year, St. Paul’s Indy is once again committing $25,000 from the Community Engagement budget and is inviting the congregation to match that gift with an additional $25,000. Every contribution helps our neighbors move from the uncertainty of homelessness toward the stability of a permanent home and the support needed to remain housed.

Learn more about Streets to Home Indy in Burrows Commons beginning October 18. On Sunday, November 15, Rabbi Dr. Aaron Spiegel, Executive Director/President of the Greater Indianapolis Multifaith Alliance (GIMA), will preach at the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services at St. Paul’s, and Chelsea Haring-Cozzi, CEO of the Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention (CHIP) will speak at the 10:15 a.m. Adult Faith Forum that day.
