Note from IMC

St. Paul's Indy is pleased that the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus will lead the music for 9 a.m. worship on Sunday, October 12. The Chorus calls St. Paul’s their home for rehearsals and their administrative office, and we look forward to having them participate in worship and offer beautiful choral selections. The IMC is beloved for their performances and spirit of inclusivity.

A Note of Gratitude from the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus (IMC):

I want to share how honored we are to be joining you for worship at the 9 a.m. service on Sunday, October 12. Over the past few years, the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus has had the pleasure of performing concerts in your beautiful sanctuary for the wider community. Those experiences have been unforgettable. But, being invited to sing as part of your worship is something even more special. To share music with you in this way is a true gift for us.

The IMC is, at its heart, a family. Our singers come from many walks of life, but we are bound together by our love of music and our desire to connect people through song. Over the past few years, St. Paul’s has become an extension of that family for us. You have welcomed us not simply as guests but as companions on the journey, and we are grateful to call this place our home.

One of the things that always catches my eye is your church’s logo, encircled with the words: Sharing Christ’s Love. Creating Community. Striving for Justice. These words resonate deeply with the work of the IMC. Through music, we also strive to share love, build community, and lift up voices in the pursuit of justice - voices of the LGBTQ community and other marginalized groups. It is no wonder our relationship feels so natural.

On a personal note, because our office is in the Parish Center, I am fortunate to interact with the clergy and staff of St. Paul’s on nearly a daily basis. In those encounters, I see love in action: welcoming and generous. That spirit has sustained me in my own work, and I know it radiates throughout this congregation. It is clear to me that God’s love is alive here, and it is a joy to experience it in such tangible ways.

As we join you on October 12, the IMC is honored to provide the music for your worship service. Our hope is that these songs create moments of reflection, invite joy, and deepen the sense of connection that makes this community so special. More than performance, we want our music to serve as an offering of gratitude and a reminder of the love and hope we all share.

Thank you for welcoming us once again, for encouraging our singers, and for standing alongside us in friendship. The Indianapolis Men’s Chorus is better because of St. Paul’s, and I am grateful to walk this journey with you.

With gratitude and joy,

Stephen McCoy
