Community Engagement
Responding to the expressed desire of St. Paul’s Indy parishioners wishing for opportunities to serve others in our community, the Community Engagement team wishes to share and encourage the following ways to participate:
MLK Center Meal Servers:
Each school day, volunteers are needed from 3:30-5:30 p.m. to dish up hot meals for children in after-school care at the MLK Center. No cooking is involved, just some reheating and assembling the meals in take-out containers. For questions/more information click here to email Barb MacDougall or call 317.432.8342. To volunteer, click here to email MLK Community Engagement Coordinator Leintz Belony or call 317.923.4581. Volunteering is coordinated online via signupgenius.com, allowing all to select convenient times to help.
Food Recovery Drivers needed:
Weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, volunteers pick up usable packaged food from 3-4 IPS schools and deliver that food to North United Methodist Church to be sorted and redistributed to nine area agencies. Driving is 10-15 miles round trip, from approximately 12:30 - 3 p.m. To volunteer for a time slot convenient to you, please click here to email coordinator Steve Gudorf or call 317.924.1942.
Snacks for MLK Center:
Volunteers are needed once/month to purchase (using a provided gift card) and deliver after-school snacks to the MLK Center. This is a great opportunity for families! To volunteer or get details, please click here to email Susie Holtz or call 317.370.4262.
