Faith In Action Update

Streets to Home Indy Move-In Kits Have Moved On!

At the beginning of Lent, St. Paul’s Community Engagement team planned to assemble 10 Move-In Kits for those who have (and will receive) permanent housing with wraparound services through Indy’s Streets to Home initiative. These kits provide what is needed to set up housekeeping for a formerly homeless person who now can feel safe in their new home. Currently, Streets to Home has housed 144 people!

The St. Paul’s community (in usual St. Paul’s style) responded by donating 18 1/2 kits, and a van load of miscellaneous items, that were welcomed at RDoor this week. RDoor provides storage for Move In Kits that are delivered as people are housed.

This amazing response was truly a group effort! St. Paul’s parishioners provided complete kits, partial kits, and individual items. The Community Engagement Team, parishioners, and youth worked to sort, organize, and deliver everything to RDoor.

We are called on to share Christ’s love, create community and strive for justice - this is how it’s done! Thank you, St. Paul’s!
