Education for Ministry (EfM)
EfM is a worldwide program developed by the School of Theology of The University of the South, located in Sewanee, Tennessee, a seminary of the Episcopal Church. Its authors believe that the foundation for bringing Christ to the world lies in a church empowered by an active, theologically articulate laity.
Thousands of persons not only in the United States but also in Australia, New Zealand, England and Western Europe have completed this four-year program.
EfM at St. Paul's has openings in our group for this year. We meet Tuesday evenings beginning in September at 6:30 p.m. to experience and explore the persons, beliefs and events that have shaped our faith.
For more information contact Betty Berdahl at 844.1493, or the Rev. Peder Berdahl at the Diocesan office, 926.5454.
About EfM
Every baptized person is called to ministry. The Education for Ministry (EfM) program provides people with the education to carry out that ministry. During the Service of Confirmation we ask God to "Renew in these your servants the covenant you made with them at Baptism. Send them forth in the power of the Spirit to perform the service you set before them." EfM offers an opportunity to discover how to respond to the call to Christian service.
