Senior Ministries at St. Paul's
Staff contact: John Vernon Oaks, Associate for Parish Life
• Terrific Thursdays
Adults ages 55 or older are invited to join us every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Each morning typically consists of two 50-minute programs (at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.) seperated by a brief intermission. A terrific lunch is served at noon for just $5.
Terrific Thursdays is a senior's ministry of St. Paul's Episcopal Church for ALL people of
ALL faiths, not just members of St. Paul's!
November 20
Both hours: "South East Asia," with
Christine and Howard Johnson.
November 27
No meeting. . . Happy Thanksgiving!
December 4
First hour: “A Day in the Life of a Veteran Drug
Rep,” with Heather Flynn, an 18 year sales representative for GlaxoSmithKline.
Second hour: “The Last Lecture.” On September 18, 2007,
Carnegie Mellon professor and alumnus Randy Pausch
delivered a one-of-a-kind last lecture that made the world
stop and pay attention.
December 11
First hour: “An Insider’s View of the
Newspaper Business,” with St. Paul’s own Gerry Lafollette
Second hour: “Things Remembered.” Bring what you keep
that helps you remember some event or period in your life.
December 18
NOTE: We will meet in the Church building today.
First hour: Frank
Boles gives us a hands-on demonstration of the St. Paul's
organ. You'll see inside, touch the keys and awaken the E.
Power Biggs in you!
Second hour (in the Lilly Room): “Bingo with a Christmas
Spirit!” Be sure to bring a prize, and be nice -- you might win it
back.
Third hour: Lunch, also in the Lilly Room.
If you have questions, or would like to volunteer to conduct a program for Terrific Thursdays, contact John Vernon Oaks.
