Society of the Magi
Staff contact: Lisa H. White, CPA
Have you remembered St. Paul's or the Episcopal Church in your will? The Society of the Magi recognizes gift givers who witness to the spiritual impact of the Episcopal Church on their lives. A person automatically becomes a member of the Society when he or she makes provision for the continuation of the church through what are generally accepted as planned gifts. Such gifts are of two general forms.
• A transfer of current assets into a permanent
or endowment fund to benefit a parish, institution, cooperating ministry or the
diocese.
• Some form of a deferred gift, such as a bequest or a gift by
trust to a permanent or endowment fund. The gift need not be irrevocable. Its
members honor Our Lord in the same way the Magi did two thousand years ago.
Everyone who has made a planned gift to the church is invited to join the Society
by notifying your church or the diocese of the gift. Initial information needed will include your name, address, phone number, the type of gift you wish to share. There is no need to disclose
the monetary amount of the gift.
If you are in need of an attorney or CPA, we can help you locate one. We are also
very happy to work with any professional or financial institution you have retained
or wish to use. If the gift is made posthumously, surviving family
members are asked to notify the diocese so we can honor their loved one.
A certificate will be presented to members at an time.
