Vestry: Lyn Reece

reece.jpgWhy do you feel called to serve on the Vestry of St. Paul’s?

I have been asking for guidance and direction and consent to God to accept this call to be on the Vestry. Several of my other volunteer opportunities have either changed or need to be reassessed. I now have the time to serve as a part of St. Paul's mission.

Please describe your participation at St. Paul’s or in the community, indicating leadership experience that you think would be helpful for the Vestry.

At St. Paul's I have served as co-chair of the Library Guild and been involved in the Christmas Families project for years. I was a part of St. Paul's Centering Prayer group and now participate in the Women's Downtown Fellowship. In the community I served as an interviewer at Indy Reads Adult Literacy program, a tutor for the United Way ReadUp program and as a tutor at IPS School 15. I am currently involved with Contemplative Outreach of Indiana and on the Leadership Team for The Living Flame series for 2018-2019. I currently serve on the Phoenix Theatre Board and chair of the Special Events/Honors Committee. At St.Matthew's Episcopal Church in Louisville, Kentucky I served on the Vestry and the Altar Guild.
